Default I want to start trapping

I'm 22, I have been fishing/hunting my whole life, and really want to get into to trapping, or atleast try it. Could anyone take me out with them one time? I live in Edmonton, no problem paying for gas, etc, I'm really good in the forests and a hard worker and will help as much as I can.

I'm not saying nobody wants to go with you, but why not try it alone. Snaring rabbits is pretty simple. If you don't have snares I dont know where you can get em, but i do know how to make em so feel free to message me about that.

You want to look for a rabbit trail, if you dont know what rabbit tracks look like google images. If you find a well used trail find the narrowest part of the trail and set a snare there. You want the snare about a hands with from the snow. If you look at the lower parts of a evergreen tree and see some needles missing and theres rabbit tracks around, chances are the rabbit stopped there to eat.

Get in touch with the ATA. Find out if you can take a trapper's course, and when the convention is, go to the convention and meet some trappers, if you're serious I'm sure someone will sign you up as a junior partner or at least take you out for a week or two.

Edmonton has a great trappers local. The ATA has all the contact numbers, go to a meeting you'll be welcome.
