Default Lake trout guide in Ontario.

Has anyone used a guide/lodge in Ontario for lake trout? I am planning/going to surprise my father with a lake trout fishing trip for us both to go on. I have heard good things about fishing in Ontario. I have never used a guide for anything in my life so if anyone has any experience or suggestions for a good one for lakers please let me know.

Ontario has good fishing but if lake trout is the goal I wouldn’t choose Ontario. Lots of good options for lake trout that are much closer

I know there are places here in Alberta to fish for lakers. I am looking to make this more or an adventure for him. Leave the province and fish in a different province. My father recently lost his best friend and fishing buddy so I am trying not to fish the same places or even the same province. Just looking for a change. If there is a better province then Ontario I’m all ears. The only reason I thought Ontario is I think back to a lot of the fishing tv shows we would watch when I was growing up. A lot of them took place there.

I would look into Sask or Manitoba lodges. I do my lake trout fishing in BC with family DIY so can’t speak for the quality of the lodges

If you re do your post looking for options for lodges with Lakers in general I know there is members with experience in lodges for lakers in Saskatchewan and Manitoba on the forum.

I dont know how expensive it is but Cree Lake lodge in Sask always produces quality Lakers every year.

Not sure what your budget is, but plummers lake lodge in NWT or Tazin in Saskatchewan would probably be the go to destinations for the biggest lake trout. Lots of places in Saskatchewan/Manitoba that would probably be better than Ontario.
