Default Trapping sled

In the market for a 500-600cc snowmobile. To be used for farm use and light trapping use. Looking to pull a sled with bait. Would like fuel injection and electric start., reverse. The Tundra and Skandic is what I have looked at online. There is a Ski Doo dealer nearby. What should I be looking for? Under 15,000$ mark. Polaris dealer as well close but not impressed with their service.

Under 15g your best bet is an Expedition 600 Ace, quiet 4 stroke and very efficient. Reliable and most engines go 30000 kms or more.
It s very nice trapping sled, and quite popular in northern part of Alberta, actually the best selling sled up north.
Very hard to find for sale used

If you can find a 2024 skandic at the dealer the 600 aces are under 15k. Or if you want something more nimble for around the yard a tundra.

You might keep size of your sled to a minimum. A sled in deeper snow trying to climb high ridge can spin out. PS not fun pulling heavy sled up ridge by hand.

Sweet! That's a good sled for trapping. Depending on your level of sledding experience, the narrow stance will make it a bit tippier than other models when driving down the trail. Will take a min to get used to but not a deal breaker. You can get into some pretty tight spots. Wish I had more $$ because there's about 4 model sleds I'd like just because of the different things they excel at. Enjoy the sled!
