Default New hunting spot?

So I have been looking for a new place to hunt. I typically hunt down in 308,304. I haven't been able to find any elk or even fresh droppings in places I've normally found elk. So I've been looing at highway 40 West of Sundre or there abouts as a jumping off point. Are there a lot of road hunters here, quadders? I'm not sure what to expect. Should I go further North? Is it worth checking out? I know this is a hard sell on this site asking for info. I'll only be walking.

The further North west you go in Alberta the better the hunting. Just my experience after hunting in more than 30 WMU's in Alberta.

Yes, it can be a zoo in that area west of Sundre. But like anywhere, if you get 1km or more off the beaten path, the world can be your oyster.

Was out there this weekend for the day. Lots of truck hunters especially in the rig road area but out towards Hwy 40 a bit less. North end has quite a few folks camped out off the main road so just be cautious of that. As Fwee mentioned though once you leave the road it gets much quieter. I’ve been going up that way for quite awhile over the years and have a few spots I sit in and I’ve definitely seen less sign then most years but still they are there. There’s a higher number of horses now too but did get lucky this year and saw a wolverine for the first time in a long time.
