Default population decreasing across the north

Hey biologists I think I might know why the population is going down in Canada.

I took time out of my day to report them to MB game. I would encourage everyone to do the same.

Does anyone know if they have a law in MB re: discharging a firearm from a watercraft under motor power (around the 30 minute mark)?

"A power boat or e-bike are not vehicles if the motor is not in
operation and all progress caused by the motor has stopped."

Would say that's another violation for them.

Interesting! Looks like there's even more restrictions in Manitoba than we have here in Alberta with respect to using vehicles for hunting.

Quote:
The following restrictions apply to big game hunters:

VEHICLE USE
Vehicles may not be used while hunting big game except to travel to or from a hunting area or to retrieve a kill by the most direct route.

Hunters should be careful when traveling by vehicle as damage to habitat (terrestrial and aquatic) is illegal.

Please refer to Restricted Vehicle Use Areas on pages 23 and 24.
NORTHERN ZONE
Vehicles including ORVs may be used in these areas as a means of getting hunters to and from their hunting area. It is illegal to hunt or search for wildlife with the use of a vehicle anywhere in the province, including the Northern Zone.
So, I guess road hunting is not allowed in the Northern Zone... I wonder how that could possibly even be enforced?

Driving home from the store: "No, officer, I wasn't searching for wildlife..."

I'm pretty sure these guys don't care about the laws.
Heck they even made a video of their actions and posted it.

I love how they take multiple shots at the moose behind a wall of willows, from the motorized moving boat, and then don't bother going to look for signs of a hit. True stewards...
The whole video confirms everything I've thought about how some of these people hunt "traditionally".
Unethical and dangerous law breakers, immune to the law.

Looks like more than 1 crowd has had video proof used against them.
We are 6 days away from the nonsense that comes with truckloads of hunters and access issues, let alone shooting towards occupied buildings. It is not only those in the north in some regions that do foolish and unlawful things come rifle season. Plenty of non-Indigenous doing the same, both kicenced or not.

Good Article in Lastest F & G magazine about Manitoba reducing moose tags by 75% in many zones. I wonder why!
