Unsubscribed draws

Curious to know, if you apply for a unsubscribe draw, do you loose your status on your regular draws?

Yup.

I grabbed an undersub in 357, I forgot tags at home so my wife had text me pictures. I did not know I would get 2 tags in 357 though so that's neat.

Same here, had to check that the tagging requirements in the regs didn't change to needing 2 like sheep. lol

A special licence is issued with a tag(s) and is valid to hunt the specified type of animal at the specified time and location. A hunter must carry the licence and applicable tag(s) on his or her person while hunting. More than one tag may be issued in specific WMUs if there are too few applications to achieve the desired harvest.

Not sure what's up but when buying an undersubscibed antlerless elk license AR asked for "2" tag #'s. I tried entering just 1 thinking this is odd" but no go. Wont add to cart.

Ok then...here's 2 tag #'s. Boom. Done deal and AR shows both tags as valid. I'm pretty sure I wasn't smoking the drapes while sleeping but I'm wondering if 1) this is a glitch and 2) why wouldn't they have said something about 2 for the price of 1 prior?

I've bought undersub tags in this wmu for 5 yrs and never had this happen before. Now I'm going back in to see if I can buy 2 more in the same wmu for the unsub season prior. Kidding.

I had to enter 2 tag #s to get my son an undersubscribed cow licence, so would appear you get to shoot 2. I couldn’t find any info about there being a change though. Kids may have to buy another freezer

It'd stink if a guy only had one tag on hand to apply. NO TAG FOR YOU.

Now buddy and I will have to buy a bigger truck but 16 legs sticking up from the box is really going to drive the anti's nuts when we drive down Whyte Ave. at noon hour.

In years past I remember 522 only having the Dec 21-Jan21 season and selling out quickly. They must have added tags up there.

You can deff NOT buy a underscribed tag and purchase a general elk tag,one tag per species only,if you purchase a underscribed elk tag,your general tag is garbage

Only if you DRAW an antlerless, can you NOT get a general bull. If you BUY an UNDERSUBSCRIBED, you can also buy a general.

2nd year it's been like that
other years it would not even give you the option
If you bought a general it wouldn't allow you to buy anterless
One year i bought unsubscribed anterless wouldn't allow me to buy general tag after that

This is incorrect. Thats how it used to be. Now you can purchase a general elk tag for your 3+ bull and where available an unsubbed antlerless elk tag in same year. Some unsubbed seasons run simultaneously with the general as well
. And unless there was a glitch on AR this morning you can now take 1 Bull + 2 cow in the same year.

Now theres Sept/Oct, Nov/Dec, and late Dec/Jan unsubbed seasons.

I asked for a supervisor and he confirmed you are cerrect,a person can have a general bull elk tag and also have a underscribed cow elk tag.I purchsed both this morning and was given two cow elk tags along with my general Bull elk tag,Im happy she was wrong, I can see F&W changing this as why would anyone pull there draws and hunt a Bull or cow only when its legal to hunt both curently

Aprx 09:03 i’m logged in (pun not intended, ha) with my undersubscribed elk selected.
But what’s this, two tags required? But only one in hand.

The wife sees me doing the hallway shuffle scramble to get a second tag, ha.

At a local licence issuer this morning, many in line were told if not purchasing the general elk tag before the undersubscribed tag, should the intent be to purchase both, the system would kick her out and not allow the purchase of the general post-purchase of the undersubscribed.

The line was long, with fellas and ladies looking for more tags due to the second tag requirement identified in certain WMU for undersubscribed purchases.

There was no issue when purchasing in general tag first then undersubscribed order.

Many couples leaving with 6 tags to possibly fill for elk this season.

Either their system is snafu or a clueless employee. I had zero problems buying my undersubscribes and I still haven't bought a general.
