It's all relative ...hi population of dogs and good cover and time to do it . I live in a coulee bottom and the pheasants roost in thick brush behind the house..I've taken 11 within a 400 yd radius of my house this year , about 20 on a bait ,14 at a wolf site and the rest in a dozen random snares also close to home ...if price comes back a bit I'll hit em hard again on a couple more baits next year ..

Geez someone is still going after them these days. Other than helping out some cattle guys most people I have talked to have shut it down with the brutal prices. I talked to a couple big number guys that haven’t even set a snare.

Yes ,price isn't gonna be great but I will.make more cash than I could sitting around getting fat all winter ..it's a hobby and all hobbies cost money whether it's snaring or golfing and I don't golf ..lol..

I agree! I sat around last winter getting fat and lazy and I won’t do that again, I’m also at a little over 50, I just stayed close to home and didn’t burn a bunch of fuel doing it. It’s also 50 less coyotes out there killing deer and small game so there’s that.

Good call ...I've got 2 young neighbor kids that are learning to skin and I'm giving something to practice on ..they make a few bucks and I do as well ..the current price is abiut breakeven point ,so hopefully when the supposed surplus is over and fresh dogs are needed I'll have a couple good skinners and go back to hitting the coyotes hard again ..I'm not as greedy as many ,a $60 ave will do it for me .

Tried Golf, empty day of trapping and snaring better than a good golf game.

I hear ya. I used to make a bunch more money on roping or coyotes, golf did nothing but cost me. Still, 50 is a decent winter with depressed prices. Well done!

Good job… important that some of us are still active with coyotes. Work your best permissions at minimum- and the exercise will be welcomed by your body
