Default Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween everyone. Kids started showing up around 5:30. Our little guy is dressed up as the guy from the scream movies. I hope all the kids are safe, have lots of fun, and bring home a good haul.

We've had 10 kids so far. I'm expecting around 30. We'll see.

192 kids as of 7:40 pm and a constant line coming around the corner.

Should be over 250 shortly.

That’s a big number. First time at our current place we had over 600. Never hit that high again.

That record year there were school buses and van loads of kids showing up at the head of the street and dropping tons of kids off.

250 is way more manageable.

How about expecting 3,000-4,000 kids?!

I had less than 20 kids. I bought for 60 because of the weather.

Next kid to ring the bell is gonna hit the jackpot

We had 66 kids. Still have some candy left for me.

One girl was on her phone when she came to the door. Didn't even acknowledge me, just held her bag out while talking to her friend. Next year I'll keep a dish of dried up dog crap in case another one of these stop by. Most of the other kids seemed to be excited and having a good time.

Probably could’ve had another fifty kids If I bought more. I could hear a lot of the kids saying my home gives out full size bars and then I would get swarms for the next ten mins!

Pretty much the same scenario at our place tonight. Just got rid of the last of it.

My 7 yr old took me on a good hike tonight though lol. I guess it was my turn to keep up to him as he's been on a few good hunting trips where he has had to keep.up with me 😅.

198 kids here. Went through 11 boxes of full size chocolate bars from Costco. 18 per box. Wife bought 1 box too many have 18 bars left over for us to snack on over the next few months.

We had 3 groups of 2 for a grand total of 6 kids. 99% of the time it is great living in a quiet place away from town life; not the case tonight.

My wife believes that if she loads them up, word will get out and next year will be better. I highly doubt we are the talk of tiktok, but whatever makes her happy. Just a lot of work for 6 kids.

Those 6 kids did manage a haul though, 2 full size bars, 2 bags of chips, 2 cans of pop, and 2 hand fulls (as much as they can grab) from the candy bin

Maybe next year.

Final count was 42 which is just about the average for us, I have 10 little chocolate bars left over so would have had enough for 5 more kids, guess I'm going to have to take care of them

An idea for a rural area maybe to have a number of homes combine at one?

35-40 kids when I shut up things down at 9pm. I was really hoping for a couple more so that I could have dumped the remainder into their bags.

We had about 25, which is low. In general, there didn't seem to be that many kids walking around.

Had a set of kids who went "eewwww" when they saw that I had Meynard's gummies in my pot of goodies. And then instead of saying thank you, one of them commented to the other as they walked away, "Oh, I hate these things." Parent was on the sidewalk, saying, "Did you say 'thank you'?"

Apart from that, the kids were really good.
