Default Sask To Stop Collecting Carbon Tax

Premier Scott Moe says Saskatchewan is to stop collecting the carbon tax on natural gas Jan 1st if Ottawa doesn't offer a break, a move that has received unanimous support in the provincial legislature.

That was a 52-0 vote including the provincial NDP’ers. I hope Alberta doubles down and sends a clear message to Turdope and his liberal cronies who are just buying votes and indirectly dividing this country and its rural and urban citizens.

Sounds like an appropriate plan to me.

This works for Sask. because SaskEnergy is a crown corporation under the control of the provincial government. Doesn't work like that here.

If Trudeau takes this to court, he risks a judge ruling that if the carbon tax is halted on heating fuel , then it's only fair that the carbon tax on cleaner burning natural gas is halted.

You are correct. Hopefully Alberta can go about it some other way.

Whether crown or private companies, the province can likely come up with a creative way to get the vendors to not collect the carbon tax, whether it's legal or not. I doubt that Trudeau would want to take the provinces to court over the carbox tax on natural gas, given that the liberals have halted the carbon tax on heating fuel. Even the most corrupt, hand picked judges may not rule that it is justified to charge carbon tax on natural gas, but not on heating fuel, which emits much more.

Kind of like refusing to pay your taxes, the system is set up to make it difficult.

Except a government can get away with a lot more than an individual.

For example ,Alberta could reimplement a provincial carbon tax to replace the federal carbon tax, and then wave the carbon tax on natural gas.

This is such a blatant move to purchase votes it's unbelievable!
So much for equality in canukistan! The more I see, the more I realize there is no place in canada for Alberta and other western provinces.

So sad.

How many times have we seen these "divisions" in this country. Tighten your seat belts, it will get worse.

Either the lieberals are incredibly stupid (worse than we thought which is a very low bar to begin with) or something bigger is on the horizon. Or maybe just both and they’re going out Kathleen style. In what world do they wake up and say to themselves “you know what, let’s just go for this Hail Mary of an idea” that has repercussions on the rest of their base.

Carbon Tax, a genius scam to move money from the middle class to the elite. It has nothing to do with the environment and never has. It’s unfortunate that some people believe that it’s what it’s all about. Maybe people
are finally waking up. Good on Sask!

Vassy Kapelos interviewing federal liberal minister Gudie Hutchings.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5afBlCoM81M

There's a few issues with the audio and video in some parts of the interview.

The good part starts at about 4:40.
Trigger alert!!! People with high blood pressure or heart health issues should stop watching before the 5:29 mark.

Everyone knows it's true, but I can't believe she said that.

Default non compliane

Non compliance is only thing government understands,

With transfer payments the way they are and the recent breaks on heating oil...

I think it should be opposite tax heating oil more as there are more emissions than natural gas and you would see a pipeline built to Ontarion post haste.

Businesses should refuse to submit any taxes they collect on governments behalf if government is working against their interests,

GST,
Income Tax,
Carbon Tax,
Excise Tax,
duties,

Our prime mister can break laws and prevent investigations into corruption.

He will just go into more of a deficit to get votes. But Alberta money staying in Alberta would be a great start.

Only if they bring their 22 gauge shotguns with them. I hear they are a blast to shoot and work magic on ptarmigan, as well as moose and black bear.

I don’t know… Say whatever you want, but that Hutchings person is quite a politician. The combination of ignorance and the nerve is pretty amazing.
