Grayling

Just curious what the average size of most grayling caught Are, was out and caught a ton but only a few over the 13" mark

Would depend where you were fishing I assume. But if you were catching a stocked grayling then I would say those are large.

It's was all river fishing out past edson, first time catching them so I was unsure if I was just catching stupid ones haha

Getting a few over 13" on an outing is pretty good given the state of our grayling fishery ,,,, throw in the fact Alberta grayling are at the extreme south end of their range and typically do achieve the sizes they get in NWT, Yukon and Alaska,,, kinda like comparing Alaska Yukon Moose to our moose.

I think the bigger fish stay in mcleod all year smaller guys shoot up creeks like lil sundance. Not like the athabasca where all the fish migrate up the creeks. They get few inches bigger than 13 around here now adays.

My pb was just over 15 inches in the fort mac area, always catch lots of little guys tho

Grayling fishing is pretty much the only open water fishing I do anymore. Love fishing for them. Not that hard of a species to fish for once you know exactly where they are and the times they are running in the streams. I have a few honey holes that only produce during a 3 week span. Before or after and you would swear there are no fish ever in those waters!

Spent 36 years up there and had some deadly spots on House River that were a sure thing throughout the summer on that river as well as the Christina but that was a quad or argo proposition when the water was low fishing the deep pools.
