S. AB Gunsmith to rebarrel a .22 revolver??

Have a 12.6 rimfire revolver I'd like to get rebarreled so I can give it to an extended family member.

Any suggestions of a gunsmith for this job, preferably in Leth. or MedHat?

I can ship it, just thought if there's someone suitable close by that'd be easier.

What make and model?

Will depend on if a factory barrel is available or if it is going to have to be a full custom job. Likely not worth it if a factory barrel isn't available.

It's a Hi-Standard, Sentinel Deluxe.

they make barrel inserts.......oversimplifying it, but basically they just drill out the barrel and stick in a new set of rifling. might be easier than buying a new barrel.

As mentioned, being a low pressure (relatively) cartridge, one could drill it out and do the insert.

The other option is to try to find an original barrel in a longer length. I know they made a 5" as I've had them before. If you can find one, having it put in is relatively easy.

The gun honestly isn't worth fully machining a new barrel from a blank.

I've re barrelled many prohibs for re registration as restricted. Mostly S&W, Luger and Colt. Some of which were manufactured from scratch, but we are talking more valuable guns where the machine time and material was worth it.

sorry, but I thot u wanted a new barrel 'cause the old one was shot out/ruined in some way........not that it was prohib and u wanted to make it longer. my mistake

I did find a longer barrel for my 38 S&W on Ebay a year ago. Needed to change the barrel so my son could own the revolver.

A member pm'd me a source and I've ordered a 6" barrel for it at a very reasonable price.

Once you have yours secured I wouldn't mind knowing where from if they have more. I know of two more that could be rebarreled and made worthwhile selling.
