WMU 402 Elk Hunters

I am looking for a little info on elk in 402. I have been down there for a couple years and have seen elk but not what i've had a tag for. If your familiar with the area, we have hunted close to the 8km mark on dutch road, but im interested in going further in towards the BC border? I am scouting, but who knows where the elk will be in a couple months. Anybody have any luck that far in?

there are Elk all over in there just have to find them. Smith Creek usually holds a few big heards, but a few big Grizzly bears to watch out for in there. Racehorse also a good area. Back in the Gould Dome is close to the BC border but sometime can be tough to get back in there.

the further you can get back the better. take a sting of horses and come back with a nice bull. just gotta get where no one else does.

Depends on which area, some are really closed and some canyons, not so much.
