Leineman 3 1/2" drop point, D2 steel, cocobolo handle, Bouchard 4" hog nose, D2 steel, rosewood handle. I have just had to run them across a steel while gutting or skinning, as there is sometimes grit in the hide. They get sharpened by hand on Arkansas stones prior going out in the fall, and don't see the stones again until the following fall.

I have a Fallkniven F1, Cutco drop-point hunter with double-D edge, and a Dozier with D2 steel.

The Dozier is a pretty and functional little knife, but you'll never beat that Cutco for bang-for-your-buck.

I use a Storch custom and a Cutco
The custom is twice the knife of a Cutco but three times the price.
The Cutco is a great value.

I just got my titanium Kestrel knife last week and I can't wait to try it out this fall. It's got a carbide edge which apparently helps keep it sharp for several animals before needing to be touched up with a leather.

I use a few custom knives by Charlie May. S30V steel, Scandi ground and micarta slabs. Set covers everything from big game through the occ trout cooked in butter streamside. Expensive? Yes but hey, we all have a vice to feed LOL.
Previously I was using Knives of Alaska and Buck before that. Still like them.

As sharp as those Havalon knives are I am not sold on the replacement blade part of it. I think that having a good solid full tang blade will make the difference in the long run. Something like the KOA Alpha wolf or previously mentioned Jaeger and a stone will last a lot longer and will teach you the value of having / keeping a sharp blade. (not that convenience is not great sometimes).

Just ordered up a couple Havalon Piranta's
I dont think it will stopp me from packing my KOA Alsakan Magnum but it will fill a void and be awsome for birds!!

Custom from Jason Kilcup. OAL from tip to tip is 6" I use cheap olfa for opening the hide and this does everything else...More of a want than a need. There is always room for a little Buck skinner in my pack as well...

I agree with many, I use a Havalon knife and I also have a Browning. The Havalon is the best. Sharp always, small, light, easy to use. Just be careful, I slipped with mine and just about cut my finger off. Yes, very stupid I know. Good surgical blades though.

I carry a cutco knife (one with an orange handle) and a custom made knife with sheep horn for a handle.

i dont like carrying more crap than i need to. one well designed, easy to handle, smaller, lighter, sturdy blade for this guy. learn to use it and it will do everything you need from whittling a wiener roasting stick to boning a bison. a little knowledge will quarter an animal too if you wish.

I have a CRKT Bez tine skinner.....i love it. Then I have a Falkniven F1 for everything else. (Best knife for the $ imo)

Went in yesterday afternoon to get some arrows fletched at Trophy Book in Spruce Grove and They had the Havalon in several styles and finnishes. Its the first time I have seen or handled one in person and its exactly what I fidured it would be nice and light and without a doubt a nice addition to my pack!!
They were pretty resonable at $45 bucks for the edge including 12 blades.
Replacement blades are stocked at $6-7 for 12
The ones I ordered were edges online for $39.95 US including 12 blades and a sheath (best price I could find)

I have a Buck Ranger Skinner 113 that's treated my pretty well this year as a solid full-tang camp knife. I want to get a Spyderco Endura 4 for general use. The VG-10 steel on those Spyderco knives is very good.
