Agreed. The X method was stated in a previous post. If you cant draw an X thru the pad between the toes without touching the pad then it is feline.

I saw a print similar to that out hunting this year (15 min south of sundre) thought for sure it was a cougar but there was 5 toes and claw prints . but the weird thing is it was walking in a pattern like what krista posted.... thought it was wolf but they only have 4 toes as well, it was fairly weird

Its a cat. It doesnt have claw marks.

It could be a lynx, most lynx tracks i see are bigger then the cougar ones...about the size of my hand..but they are also on-top of the snow where as cougars sink through. Though it does look more like a cougar track.
