Default First major snow storm of the year for Calgary

Over 5 inches and building.

Got the Christmas lights up yesterday.

Caught a cold however and decided to take it easy instead of putting the winter tires on.

Likely now an afternoon activity.

How much snow are you seeing today?

Left this morning to go hunting, decided I didn’t need to drive an hour in a snow storm. Turned around, came home, crawled back into bed with my warm wife.
Now I need to go snow blow. Lol.

Snow??? The skies here are the clearest they have been in about a week. Be nice to get some snow, damn dry out there.

The rut is the rut and you got it right this time!

Send the snow up north please.

Ditto. Put the snow tires on last week. Hit the road this morning, looking forward to hunting in fresh snow. Roads were really icy and traction was poor.
A guy can buy a lot of t-bones for the potential cost of hitting the ditch.

Fired up the snow blower when I got home. It was a wet heavy snow but if I went slowly, the auger could clear the snow.

Probably 5 inches of wet heavy stuff. SE Calgary, by Anderson and Deerfoot.

Awoke to the sound of a shovel scraping concrete. Wondered why is my neighbor doing that? Probably not a good sign.....Sounds like I have something to do out here today? Looked out the window, hmmm, that looks like there may be some work involved, doesn't look like it's warm enough to melt off today.

Swapped my tires on the truck a week ago and got the lights and decorations up this weekend. Good timing. Was on my ladder on saturday when I got a text from buddy with Springsteen tickets. Off the ladder pretty quick!!!!!

I had a quick look at the Calgary forecast yesterday afternoon and there was no indication that we would get 4 inches by 9 AM in NW Calgary.
I attribute it to putting up Christmas lights and a snowman in our yard yesterday...........

Guys were out on their motorcycles yesterday. We got an honest 8 inches here Sw of Strathmore. Wet and heavy. But new Husky snow thrower worked great.
