Re-Waterproofing Rain Gear

Hey Everyone,
Like the title says I need to treat my Kuiu Kutana rain gear just got back from a Sturgeon fishing trip in BC where we got hammered by 200MM of rain. lets just say unless you we're running Rubber rain gear nothing could stand a chance against that amount of rain!

Wondering what DWR everyone is using and have had good luck with.

I use Nikwax on all my sledding gear, not sure what material your Kuiu stuff is made of but it has worked well for me.

Those coastal rains will soak through anything with a seam. Full rubber is the only thing that will take that much water.

Ask the guys on the coast about goretex, guidewear etc etc.

Just remember Goretex has its place but when it's really wet it's an acronym that means "Get Wet Slowly"

As I posted about boots however, if you want to refresh Goretex anything, it pays to read the instructions on the waterproofer, NikWax, Granger or whatever and then follow them exactly. Surprising how much more effective that makes them.
