Default where to get Wall tent side poles?

I have 5' poles for the side walls on my wall tent. I am looking for a place in Calgary (hopefully) that can make me a set that are half as long but they connect together. the 5 footers are a little too long packing on the horse so I would like to get a set that are shorter. Or is there somewhere that could cut mine in half and crimp one end to fit inside the other half?

Thanks in advance

Are you planning on using your tent someplace where there are no trees?

Princess auto sells four foot fibreglass poles that slide into each other. Cut them to the desired height. They are quite inexpensive too as they are under $5 each.

Electrical conduit and couplers will solve your problem should be able to get 2 poles out of a full stick.

tree branches are always an alternative and may be used if nothing new is found.
I will check out PA, thanks.
I will check out some couplers and just possibly cut the poles I have, great idea.

Thanks gents

This particular tent is a light weight wall tent (think sail cloth) and I would like to keep the poles on the smaller diameter size. I have seen the conduit ones but most seem way to big for what I want. These will be packed in on horseback so need to keep size and weight on the smaller size.
Thanks again for all tips
