Default Helly + Devold.

Helly Hansen Pro wool, IIRC current label Lifa Merino are expensive (investment) and bettered Ime with Norwegian company Devoid (price will make your eyes water).

Monod in Banff carries a Devoid base layer line.

Creeky....

Icebreaker all day every day. I've had mine for years, I wear it for working outside all winter, backpack hunting in the mountains, cold weather trail running, and it lasts a long time. Not a fan of much of their other stuff, but their long johns/base layers are I think second to none.
