Default Favorite Mountain Boot Insole?

Morning,

Needing to get myself some new insole's I have been running Orange Superfeet, but started to get pounded out. Looking to see what everyone is running my hiking boots are LOWA Tibet EVO GTX.

Thanks interested to see what everyone else is using these days.

I paid the money for sheepfeet and have had them for nearly 3 years and still great. A little expensive but better to pay and be comfortable i think.

I’ve been using these sof sole from Marks for years. My feet love them. They are a thick gel type sole.

After seeing this, I went and picked a set up. I had already changed the insoles in my new Ariat work boots to a lower level Sol insole that had previously worked pretty decent. My feet are nowhere near as bad tonight. I'll end up trying another set in my other work boots, and most likely a set of these in my hunting boots as well.

Thank you

Only online, its a bit of a process as they send you a foam mold, you step into them send it back then they send you the insoles, i tried to claim mine but they were a pain in the butt due to them being an american company and living north of the border.

You can’t try them. They are custom made to your feet.

Not anymore. You scan your feet with an app now.

I looked into this but it's pretty hard. Most benefits require you to have a physician prescribe them to you. Chiro etc.

I've ran the Sole brand for a while and really like them. I use the Active Medium and the Active Thick. The thicks take up a bit of boot room but have a lot of support.

I looked into my benefits. No prescription required, $400 per calendar year covered but the catch is they must be from a Canadian business because I specifically mentioned Sheep Feet. SO I won't be dropping the money on Sheep Feet but I can find something else I'm sure.

Sheep feet look like a bargain compared to the $750 it cost for custom orthotics from podiatrist.

They might be but I have been going down a rabbit hole now and looking into barefoot shoes/boots and the benefits of that vs raised heel footwear....

Unfortunately not an option for me, I've got bad bone spurs and both plantar and achilles fasciitis. 20 years of walking on stilts at work will wreck you.

May not be the most supportive option, but I really like mil surp waffle insoles. They are unmatched for wicking moisture away from your foot. My feet sweat! After a day of hiking, my socks are often dry, and the foot bed under the insole is wet.
They do have a decent amount of cushion, too, which seems to last for years.

Do you guys just replace the insole that comes with the shoes to fit the new ones or do you buy a shoe a size bigger? I checked my existing hiking shoes and I don’t think I will be able to wear those if I put new insoles into them….

Good pair of socks helps with that alot, I use the darn tough lightweight merino and they are excellent for helping keep my feet dry.. by day 2 of a hunt otherwise my feet smell like a swamp.

I swap out OEM insole for aftermarket. Stacking insoles sounds like a bad idea.

With superfeet I remove the old ones after trimming the superfeet to fit. Stacking them would make them too tight for me, plus at the point that I swapped insoles that means I wore the old one out.

Has anyone ordered them using the app to size your foot?
