Default Advice Beginner, Float Bow River

Advice for beginner
I have a small 2 person inflatable boat that I put a tube frame on.
I'd like to try it on the Bow River.
Can someone tell me which sector is the calmest for a flyfishing beginner?

Thanks

Mauser

If you could get a buddy to drop you @ Legacy Island you could float to Wyndham park & load out there.

If you do decide to do legacy to Johnson island, just keep in mind of where the main boat launch is located and how you should approach it, so that you don't end up too far out in the main current heading towards the weir if you're not a strong rower.

Just to add a bit more detail on the last note. if you plan to take out at Legacy, be aware that the launch is quite well concealed on river left. You need to be close to the river left shore as you approach otherwise you will shoot past and then have to row/wade back upstream to get to the takeout.

I suggest you pindrop the various put in/takeouts on map software on your phone so that you can keep an eye on where you are and prepare for the takeout as you float down the river. Note that there are spots on the river where cell coverage is marginal, but the put in/take outs should be fine.

Cheers
Steve

I think either McKinnon to legacy or Legacy to Wyndham/Carseland are both beginner friendly....would recommend doing both
