Didn't count but not that many. Didn't even go through a flat of old dutch chips.
One thing I noticed, the last 3 kids to come to the door were girls, 10-12 years old by themselves no friends. My co-worker noticed this too in his town. I get it's probably hard to make friends these days but damn. What a sad thing to see.

We had a couple dozen this year.
A new one for us was a kid coming to the door with their dad. The dad also had a bag and held it out for a treat. I chuckled and told him "Good try."

One girl was on her phone when she came to the door. Didn't even acknowledge me, just held her bag out while talking to her friend. Next year I'll keep a dish of dried up dog crap in case another one of these stop by. Most of the other kids seemed to be excited and having a good time.

I remember years ago when the kids were small, my wife had face painted me as a dragon and we took the kids out trick-or-treating. At one house they asked the wife and I if we would like a glass of wine.

I am really not a fan of Hallowe'en, but I did get the distinguished task of taking the kids when they were little. It was a great way to get to know people in my community.
As the kids got a little bigger, it was fun to get a group of the other dads together, and hang out. The best part was, we all looked out for each other's kids.

Happy Halloween!
Our neighborhood was young when we bought our house about 28 years ago, plenty of kids...including our own. Not any more.
In the last 3 years we've had maybe a dozen kids total....so (=last night) the first time in 28 years we HAVEN'T given out candy. Went to see the new Exorcist movie instead!

This is the first year in my life that we didn’t hand out. Im on the job site and the wife isn’t feeling well. It was weird not to be home handing out.
