Default Shimano Stradic Reel

Just picked up a Shimano Stradic and man what a difference I was using an older Abu Reel that was in the $100-$150 dollar range and going to the Stradic there's a huge difference. Paired it with a 6'9" Fenwick HMG ML, way more feel and sensitivity. Youtube link below on the reel.

What is your go to walleye Rod/Reel combo?

Shimano CI4 1000 on a 6ft. G Loomis.

Shimano CI4 2500 on a 6 1/2 St Croix

Only reel I own in Shimano. I could go on but then I begin to think I am a little heavy on the rod reel combo's.

GLoomis GLX SJR 721 with a Shimano Stradic Ci4+/Vanford reel.

I've caught literally thousands of walleye on that rod over the years...at Big Grassy on Lesser Slave Lake alone. Map drop-off. Anchor 21' Warrior on said drop-off in 9' at the bow and 23' at the stern. Walk up and down the boat vertical jigging. Profit.

I second the G Loomis SJR rods, although I use an IMX 722. I also second the Vanford.

I have a Fenwick Elite Teck M 5'7" that I paired with a Stradic FJ 1000, great vertical jigging combo.

I have Fenwick too, just a bit longer as I mostly do casting. Fantastic rod.

Many hours of mapping off-plane in the Warrior. That map is almost four kilometres long. The true beauty of it is I can spin the original image around in 3D to find spots. Pretty handy stuff.

The program used to generate the map is from Norway and was called Dr. Depth. A few of us used to work on it in an old Yahoo group back in the day before Per sold it to Johnson Outdoors and they turned it into what is now Humminbird's AutoChart. You can shoot me an PM if you want any more info.
