For a great many people Lasik works well. There are however a very large number that end up with poor night vision or who end up with vision problems down the road. I personally know three people who have had serious complications from Lasik in the last 4 years. I wore glasses my whole life for distance correction. I had cataract surgery because I had no choice and that worked well, no longer need glasses for distance as the new lenses fixed that but I would not risk Lasik just to avoid glasses.
