This firearm I purchased in 2006 as part of a group of old shotguns and a old Cooey .22.They have been sitting in the safe since.
All of them were well loved and heavily used by a Buddies Dad who had passed in the late 90's. Workhorses, not show pieces
. Buddy is a non hunter so when he asked if I would take them all, I did him a solid and now I am paying the price as all of these have some issues.
My hope for the Ithaca 2 3/4" 12 ga is to get it functional and pass it on at a future date to my new Grandson born this Spring in Fort Mac.
The serial number indicates a date of manufacture of 1954. Because I have only fired this once, I am uncertain of all the issues, but recall it would not feed the new round from the magazine. Also the action release does not so much depress, but more pivots marginally and will release with some fussing. I will cycle some ammo through it today and narrow down the exact issues.
Also looking to get a Win Model 12 2 3/4" 16 ga from 1942 up and running.Pump is locked up.
Hoping to find a Smith well familiar with this generation of firearms and their common issues..
