The reason they left and drove on a flat tire to the next farm was that they broke the rifle stock trying to smash the door glass of the pickup truck, and then were told that the Police had been called and were on the way.

As for the reply that it was only "STUFF" that Colten was killed over, then why is it that all the Supporters of Colten never give over all their STUFF to other First Nations Members who find the need to steal other people's STUFF?

It was not STUFF that Colten died for. He was trying to drive at the Farmer's son who was on the lawn tractor, and the Farmer believed that Colton had already run over his Wife.

That justifies preservation of life, regardless of any ethnicity. the Criminal Code even says so.

I think the whole affair is a great example of a happy ending, where a scumbag good for nothing drunken violent armed criminal is stopped dead in the commission of a crime. If there is any scholarship in his memory, to honour him, I expect it should go to hard working honest land owners and their kids. For doing a service to society.

This is just another reason why CBC should be defunded, for giving any air to such an asinine and ignorant story.

A more rational account of the events on that day rather than the CBC version.

Coulton Boushie became a martyr that day because of one thing...the gun was pointed at his head when it went off. If it hadn't been, or hadn't gone off, he'd have gone directly to jail and after he got out,he'd be back to a life of crime.
So this is the kind of person who we name scholarships and high schools for? Coulton himself would be dumbfounded.

Why was it OK for Colton's gang to threaten an elderly farm lady with a firearm to steal a truck, but when someone uses a firearm to protect a life, its not OK???

Oh Right!!! BECAUSE ALLAN ROCK SAID SO!!!!

For God Sake, someone should do a Movie on the last day of Colton's life, failed truck theft, Pointing a Firearm at an elderly isolated farm lady in a remote location who has to barricade herself in her house, attempted Truck and Quad Theft and attempt to run over lawful citizens, and all.

Yes, Liberal and FN heads will explode, but they can do their own Movie on Colton's last day.

"Honor" a stoned and drunk thug who was attempting to steal from honest folks while armed.

Fitting I guess. if those types are your "heroes"...

Where are the the indigenous groups funding for those people who were terrorized by Colten and his associates, I am surprised the Trudeau Foundation has not donated money to the scholarship!

Maybe we should find somebody to make that film, and start a GoFundMe page to pay for production. I'd chip in $100 to make that show, and pay to watch it too.

Could we consider a "Stanley Scholarship"?

This would cover the PAL and the RPAL course for some deserving Saskatchewan farmer who has been the victim of a crime.

That, right there, is one hell of a good idea!

He definitely deserves the inaugural awarding of this bursary. I can't wait to hear his acceptance speech.

It is obviously because of racism. Any decent progressive enlightened morally superior person is applauding these awards that recognize cultural excellence.

Or some such ****.
