Default Sask pike fishin

Good day on the ice yesterday , ended the day with a 22 pounder.

Thats huge, would love to get one like that ice fishin. Make you fantasize about a 10" ice hole to get that one through if you didnt have it... haha

Haha ya it was through a 10 inch. Don’t think she would have fit through a 8. And Pasqua lake

Ya gotta lub'em up and they will fit....just don't be that guy out on the ice yelling if anyone has any lube...be prepared.

I never fished Pasqua. Being from Saskatoon originally we always headed north to fish.

That's a nice pike though!

The pike fishing is really good
. Did some early ice walleye fishing there and it was awesome, usually fish last mountain

I one time got a pretty fat 40"er through a 6" hole. Problem was that every time I got him coming up the hole I would get a kind of pump effect, where the pike would plug up the hole and you'd be bringing all the water up with him. With only 10lb line on I eventually ended up reaching down the hole and feeling around for his gill, getting chomped pretty good in the process, and eventually hoisting him up the hole.

After the fact I realised that I had run a pretty big risk, not sure what I would have done if the pike had got me with the hook and I couldn't get him up the hole, I might have been stuck there with my arm shoved down the hole.
