Default Caribou hunt in Nunavut

Looking into a Caribou hunt for next year and I found an outfitter called Canadian Wilderness Outfitters. Anyone ever hunt with them?

Looks like a good fit, but curious to hear about anyone's experience with them.

I'm booked with them for this year, heading up on the 23. The website has old information. Gove Scott a call and chat about it. He seems to be a great guy, and has been more than happy to chat for an hour numerous times just to go over things. He is heading up next week, so best to contact him ASAP.

Default Nunavut Caribou

Never been on a caribou hunt but have several hunting companions (5) that have. ALL have said it's not a hunt rather a shoot! Not one would ever go again.

Packed up my stuff tonight and am ready to roll. I've got about ten pounds of weight left in my bag so if you think of anything else we might need let me know Desert Eagle. Scott has been awesome getting me set up and has been there every step of the way. He is more than happy to answer any questions and is in no rush to get off the phone. The guy seems on top of everything. You don't have to bring your own food and based on the four references I talked to it sounds like a blast. I will update this thread when we get back.

I"ve guided many caribou hunts in Nunavut & NWT.......one of the most beautiful places to hunt in N. America and everyone should experience it. The costs of the hunts nowadays has me shaking my head but it was a hunt that anyone could save enough to go on with a little effort not that long ago.

You should hear the complaints when the migration doesn't roll through on cue

It is a very beautiful and wonderous land and "yes" everyone should have the opportunity to experience it! Also, you're correct in that a caribou hunt is one of the least expensive hunts one can go on.
However, my earlier comment was an opinion as to the challenge these hunts present for the hunter. In my freinds cases, they simply waited as the caribou walked by. They all said the hardest part of the hunt was deciding which ones (allowed 2) to shoot.

This is probably the biggest that I ever guided for. Lots of time behind glass to find something like this......or just lucky timing!!! It is pretty easy walking up there for sure!!

That is a great bou for sure! We won't be hunting during the migration, it is a pre migration hunt, so we will be putting on the miles to find some good resident bulls. We haven't even started the adventure yet, but with almost 2 years of prepping and planning I'm looking forward to it.
