Restricted Areas?

There might be an obvious answer to my question that I’m missing but I can’t seem to figure it out. In the central Alberta backroad mapbook there are lots of areas with the dark pink colour symbolizing “restricted area” according to the map legend. For example around rimbey. Some of the areas I can see why they might be restricted but lots of other areas I don’t see why or to who or what they are restricted? Maybe someone else familiar with these maps could help me out. I have the newest version of map I believe. Thank ya!
