Whoa! There's got to be a good story behind that one!
Would love to be able to accomplish that someday.

The wolf was in good health... when I hit him, he jumped, and fell into a beaver run... didn't make the best for pictures after that...lol
This one was nice and dry...

It's good to see you boys are getting a number of those big dogs. I am curious to know how you are going about it if you are willing to share, either here or PM.

A couple over bait, howled a few in, called some in bow hunting elk. Most have been chance encounters while checking cows or fences. If I was specifically targeting wolves I would call them by imitating what ever ungulates are in the area and the sounds they make at that time of year. Even if you don't kill the wolves it might disrupt their hunting tactics.
Baiting for me has been really hit and miss. I wouldn't see them for two weeks and then they would show up, eat most of a frozen cow in one night and be gone again.

thorhild grazing reserve
you guys need to get in contact with the guy who takes care of the thorhild grazing reserve to increase your count astronomically!! two years ago he had shot 40. last year the count was at 50-60, then he just started telling people he lost count and it was just truck loads and truck loads. This year already his count is at 50, and hes just beginning. by my calculations hes over 200 in just two and a half years. Keep in mind these are all from the same pack he says and all over the same bait. He says he just goes out and howls and they come running. Last year he said he had them all but 4 alphas left!! from same pack. now 50 already this year... the four alphas were busy it would seem in reproduction mode. Sad thing is in talking to people around the community, they actually believe the bs.

Called one out a few years ago in November (Thought I would try for shats and giggles)and another one comes out onto the line while I was sitting. Had to do them both! Lots of wolves in that WMU.
Does calling work most anytime? And I would think the best time would be Jan-Mar?

Have a couple dozen snares out now around a deer kill site. Hoping to rebait with any roadkill if I can track it down.
There was a helicopter doing some acrobatic manoeuvres to the west of me on my neighbors line. Didn't hear any shots. Hope they drive them back to me.
