Default Bow Hunting Southeast Alberta Mule Deer

Hello All,

I'm a young bowhunter new to southern Alberta, attending the University of Lethbridge. I plan on getting a General mule deer tag for bow season this year, and i'm wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction to some good mule deer country. 2016 regulations show archery general antlered/antlerless tags for WMU 106, 102, 112, 116, 118, 119, 128. If anyone has some advice on areas with good coulees, and maybe some good areas and landowners to start asking for permission it would be greatly appreciated! The closer to Lethbridge the better (106,112,128), but i am willing to drive for the monster mulies!

Cheers

Being that I attended post secondary not too long ago, I know the feelinf about getting out hunting whikr you are stuck cracking the books most of the time. But if you are successful, do you have a place close at hand where you can skin, butcher and store anything you take? It doesn't always freeze down this way until October or even November and can get pretty warm in the afternoons. Food for thought.

If your willing to drive for the monster mulies as you said, then I would suggest you do excatly that and drive, glass, find them and get permission on your own.

I went to UofL as well quite a few years ago, plenty of good Muley country down there.

Get yourself iHunter App. All that lease land and some county maps all at your fingertips. Much better than trying to surf SRD website for that info. I was in 106 and 102 last year. Saw lots of 160-170" deer when I was Scouting. Have fun!

The zones he is inquiring about are general during archery...antlered with a bow is legal in the zones he mentioned.
