Default Yes there Are Still Honorable Hunters Out There

Was sheep hunting with my son last week and on the way off the mountain received a call on my cell phone. Hunters named Bill Mac Donald and Kyle Hanna had found my wallet which I had kicked out of my truck in the dark in a drainage a few miles from where we finally decided to depart from. This was a few miles from where my truck was now sitting. Bill told me Kyle had found my wallet containing lots of cash, credit cards, drivers license, etc early that morning. Obtaining my phone number from my ID in the wallet he had already tried to reach me on my home phone and being unsuccessful called my cell phone. The two men were about to leave their vehicle to hunt a drainage on foot. Bill told me where his truck was parked and that he would leave my wallet hidden in his truck box so I could pick it up. I drove to their location and retrieved my lost wallet. What great honorable, honest men.
Many thanks to two great guys. It gave me a good feeling knowing there still are people out there with this sort of integrity. I hope I get a chance to pay it forward someday. It is so nice to know there are people out there who are willing to help out fellow outdoorsmen.

There are honourable hunters out there, always were and always will be.
The problem however is that there always have been and always will be the "less that honourable ones", and this seems to be a growing concern everywhere.
Tremendous news to know that two of the good guys found you wallet RangerCS

Every once in a while someone restores your faith in humanity, glad you encountered these two. Sometimes a person is afraid to leave their locked vehicle unattended with any contents in it, so its nice to hear something positive.

Your welcome Ranger... Wasn't even a consideration of keeping it.. We were hoping it would give us some good sheep hunting karma but no such luck... There's always next year..

Thanks so much again. You are two great guys, who I hope if I don't get chance to myself, someone else will get a chance to pay forward such an act of goodwill. Your kind thoughtfulness is very much appreciated.

What an awfull feeling it is when you lose something important esp. a wallet. You got very lucky Ranger that these fine gentleman even found it to begin with, nevermind taking the trouble to track you down. Hope Clyde gets his sheep before end of season. Well done. Don't hear enough of these kind of stories.

Isn't it sad that when we run into decent people we can hardly believe it. Good job guys, keep it up.

It is my hope, that by members of the Forum seeing this example of old fashion honesty and integrity that they too will see the good that can happen when good people do good things for someone else. A friend once told me that "All that I give I give to myself". When you do good for others you in turn receive a good feeling inside knowing that what you did was the right thing and that it helped someone out. Lets hope this sense of goodwill remains alive within our outdoor fraternity.

I know the feeling ranger.

Had it happen to me on two occasions.
And somehow my wallet found its way back to me.
Once near Bezanson when the team van ended up in a steep ditch.

Once at jack fish lake near Carvel.

Geeze ranger!
First you lose your sako clip

Now your wallet.

I'm going to get your wife to attach everything to your huntin g coat with a string of yarn.

He he! Just like your mittens!

Jokes aside.... Nice to see integrity and honor in the woods.

Kudos to the fellows that found it!
