Default Elk in 108

Wondering if anyone on here has heard of any bulls taken there recently. I shot a bull there in early SEPT during the first season. I have a hole to fill as there was another big bull in the herd I shot mine out of and am curious if anyone had taken him. He was a nice 6x6 and the only real distinguishing feature that I could say was unique was he was very white in color. If someone could help me out I would send a pic of my bull that someone could put onto this thread for me as my skills on this iPad are a bit limiting. Love to hear from someone that has taken a bull in that zone this season so far.

Geat bull Calvin! Good to see those big fronts are still in the herd.

Yes that's him, thanks Dale for posting for me. He was the biggest elk I have ever wrestled with. After taking off the hip, I could not lift it. That was probably the best elk hunt I have been on. As a young lad growing up down there I never dreamt I would be able to have a chance at an elk like this one. Dream come true for me. He gross just under 335. There was another bull there and I could not decide which one. This guy was laying down sleeping when an old cow got up and was looking down the coulee at something. I figured it was another bull that I was watching until I fell asleep in the shade of the corrals I was enjoying. Then everyone (about 50 hd) all stood up to investigate. This guy got up, stretched, turned his around and scratched his azz with his right horn. I thought to myself, he has to be a good bull for that to be able to do that. He then turned broadside slightly quartering away all by himself. I dropped my rangefinder a ways back while crawling up to the hill overlooking him. I estimated him at 250-300 yes, put the crosshairs on his shoulder and squeezed. My old Remington 700 Classic in a 7mm Mauser hit him just behind the last rib and the 140 gr Nosler Partition did the damage needed. He walked around a few moments, and turned butt first to me, so I didn't want to shoot again. There were also a bunch of cows that got in behind him. So I chose to hold off and wait. It didn't take long and his back right leg kind of started to flutter and down he went. The rest of the herd just hung around and even after I got up and started walking towards them they didn't spook much at all. The other bull was awesome too, but as it turned out he had just went kind of over the hill and laid down. He was a fair bit further and did not want to screw this one up as it was as perfect of a setup as I have ever seen. I couldn't believe my eyes as this time the horns kept growing the closer I got. I counted my paces and I think I was about 275 or so. Memory was a little goofed after that walk. So loved this hunt and everything about it. My buddy also shot a no bull the day before. I did hear from another tag holder who also shot a great bull. So if Nyone shot that other bull I would love to hear from you to see what the other one was like and if I made the right choice. Thanks, Calvin...

Great bull and story. A buddy from town shot a bull out on the Knight a few weeks ago, might be the other bull that was with yours, I haven't seen him but talked to the guy and he said he was a 325 bull.

Jim..

I was working East of Del Bonita a few days last week, and just missed seeing a herd of approx 150 Elk that have been in the area for awhile according to the operator.

Thursday I got a few pics of this guy on my way home, he was all alone and didn't seem to worried about me an my noisy truck.

He is very light in colour like you mentioned, but his antlers aren't very big so I don't think he's the one you're thinking for.

No, not the one. That is awesome though no regard. Would love to see that herd though. I bet some ranches wouldn't want to see them roll in either. Keep your camera handy. Thanks again...
