As the title says, looking for someone in the Camrose/ Edmonton area to skin and prep coyotes for auction for me.

Thanks pikeslayer. I'll try giving them a call today.

Oh come on, $40 to skin a little coyote? It takes like 10 minutes to skin one and usually custom people can skin one in 3 to 5 minutes. Then 3 to 5 minutes to flesh, a quick wash, usually a sew job and a stretch. Good skinners will have 15 to 20 minutes total in a coyote.
There's a guy from Westlock advertising custom skinning in the Alberta trapper magazine. I'm not certain but I think his name is John Proichuck or something like that? Please correct me?

It's amazing how many people don't or can't put up their own fur. iMO if you can't do it don't shoot or trap them.

I find I usually have an hour total into a coyote if I want to do a good job. I don't enjoy skinning that much and if its not my own coyote I wouldn't do it under $40. If someone around here would do it for $20 I'd gladly pay.

Mark them with a hole punch, the same ear all the time and put a piece of ribbon or tag of some kind.

Have you ever tried putting them up, or do you just shoot too many?

Yeah that'll work, cause you'll never find a Hutterite who knows how to operate a hole punch and a piece of ribbon eh?
I charge $6 for skinning and stretching, but I'm too busy to take any new customers.

I was told to mark them with cattle or sheep ear tags

I have tried a few unsuccessfully in the past. As of right now i don't have anywhere to do them as the garage is unheated and too cold, and they are not coming into the house. I do intend on having a heater installed and being able to do my own next season.
And between the ones I've shot myself and ones from friends I've got about 40 to do.

Good luck, what kind of caliber do you use? I was going to by a 204 ruger and give predator calling a shot myself. Being on a RTL I think I could take a few lynx, fox, coyotes and wolves myself.

Gotta disagree with you on this one , for the $10 bucks I'm paying to get them done I'm not skinning the fleabitten stinkin critters myself . Done it in the past and don't find it rewarding .But that's just me .

A few were with the 25-06 from deer season, the rest with the 204 ruger also. Works great and thanks. Good luck to you as well
