Anyone Look Through the new Vortex Razor HD Binos?

I was looking into buying a pair of the new 10x42's but I can't find a pair in Canada yet to see what they are worth or how the glass is. They are out in the states, Sportsmans Warehouse has them in for $1199. Anyone look through a pair yet?

I chatted with a guy at the Vortex both at huntfest for quit awhile and ended up buying the Diamondbacks 12x50. If I had had the cash I would have bought a HD higher end model. Sigh maybe when the kids move out my toys will get more expensive. But they were noticeably clearer.

Buckman, there is a new 2012 model out that was just released this summer, check out their webpage. I hope the new ones are as good as they claim.

Maybe at first or last light there would be an advantage. One of my customers bought a set last year and looking thru them in the middle afternoon mother of us could see much difference to my nikons. He payed in that 1150$ range, my buddy bought some Pentax glass for 900 that are pretty imPressive.

I picked up these last year and really like them, and they definately come through in low light conditions. Hunting partner has Nikons and more than once I handed him mine to see detail on bucks and bulls for early or late light conditions.
They are pricey but the set I had previous was stolen so I upgraded when I replaced them. As said many times before optics are important when hunting!

Binocular repairs are very expensive.

Wholesale sports in calgary has them, saw them today. Definitely seem like quality glass.

Pretty well any quality glass comes with a lifetime warranty.

Sure they do but the cost for most of them is much higher,for similar quality.

in my experience, looking through glass in the store or even outside in the middle of the day does very little to help choose hunting glass.

those "higher priced, similar quality" binos almost always leave the cheaper stuff in the dust at dawn/dusk.

in the off season my Leica's sit in the kitcken window and i often use them in pitch black darkness to look for coyotes in the yard.

are vortex razors good value for the money? yes.

are they HD zeiss, leica or swarovski? no.
