Default Fox Regulations

Red Fox
A Resident may, without a licence and at all times of the year, hunt (but not trap) red fox on any privately owned land to which he or she has the right of access.

Why can't you hunt fox on Crown land?

Default just maybe

because it is a furbearing animal and some trapper probably has the trapline rights to the crown land for his or her livlihood? Trappers only take fur when it is prime while hunters and owners of private land or those with permission can destroy them at any time of year.
