Default Off to BC for some Gerrard Fishing

Hey all, I am off to the Kootenay Lake area for some Gerrard fishing tommorow. It has been hairy getting everything ready to go as I have never done this type of fishing before and I hope I have the right lures to get them to bite. I went to the BPS yesterday as they said they had some Lyman lures but when I got there someone bought whole racks of the them a 1/2 hour before I got there, not fair!!!

Anyways we'll post the pictures when I get back and let you all know about the adventure, should be interesting fishing out of my 12' boat, I hope the wind is kind!!

regards
Goose

Cool

be careful out there. you may be a little under gunned boat wise for the big lake. the mouth and upper reaches of the west arm hold some good size bows and very large bulls. buck tail jigs out past the last light on the arm find 50-60' and drift back in to the light and 10-15' repeat as needed. there is also good fishing 1 mile down the arm at the next narrows. if you must fish the big lake try crawford bay or woodbury bay and creek mouth. if you see a black line on the lake get off the lake, if you see a white line on the lake get off the lake in a hurry. good luck be safe.

X2 I wouldn't venture to far in a 12 footer. We have been caught in some nasty water over the years.

X# YIKES A 12 FOOTER

Used to fish there every year with a dear departed buddy, but we always went in his 20 footer. Big lake big waves. BE CAREFUL

I knew an old guy that used to run Cummings bay that would go across the lake to midge creek in his 12 footer all the time. Just watch the weather and like I said don't venture far from shore
