Almost took my arm off the one time . Was thinking of sending it back and exchanging it for a differ one. Not sure what happens to the warranty if I start monkeying with it. I'm going to phone them in the morning and if they say ok then i will try what was suggested here
I doubt you will be able to take it back, but if they do let you then all the power to you. thers is nothing to say that the new one wont have the same problem though. If not and you dont want to try it yourself, then find out the nearest service center from Jiffy (someone that services Tecumseh engines close to you) and I am sure they will adjust it for you.

Tried running without the gas cap, same problem. Replaced the spark plug, same problem. I'm going to play around with the screws today now that I finally got some time. Mixed new fuel mixture that doesn't seem to make a difference either.

Not sure if it has a release screw on the gas cap but if so try opening that cup up about halfway. My auger was doing the same and as soon as the cap was opened a bit to let the gas flow it worked like a hot damn. If I opened it too far it went back to the same issue of stalling when I wasn't on the throttle. Also check the plug after running it, if its wet you might need to lean the fuel screw back a half turn or so.

Default Strike Master Auger

Hey...New to this,so I hope that I am posting this correctly...I have a Strike Master 2000 2HP Magnum 8" . The problem I am having is when I get to almost to the bottom of my hole, it does not seem to want to punch through the last 4 inches of ice, it binds up and it has a new blade on it. Any information or help you can provide would be greatly appreciate.
Thank you!

Well to start with you might want to start your own thread....

But I can answer for you that you might be leaning to one side and binding

And you might have to pull up a little

We're you located?

Augers, Me and my dad have 4 jiffy's all 3 hp Tempermental but pretty faithful, Also got 2 eskimos and 1 never runs, the new one is good though, Tried the first model of 3 hp strike masters and took it back for replacement 3 times till all the warranty was up, (junk) I now have a 12" kluge bit on the eskimo and it cuts faster than a jiffy 10 and smoother, I ordered a 8.5 kluge bit and power head, These augers are expensive but awsome.

I tried to look for a spot to start a thread, but couldn't figure it out. Like I said..pretty green when it comes to this stuff. I am located in Whitecourt. Thank you for replying to me, what you said makes sense, I will see next time when I go out if that is the problem or not.

Welcome to the forum

At the top of each sub forum, right above all the threads, there's a New Post button

As for your auger, having a tough time punching through the bottom of the ice...that's an easy one. When you start to break through the bottom of the ice, your blade is catching on the bottom edge of the ice. I found that when I put new blades on my auger that when I got to the bottom it was trying to take too big of a chunk out and would bind up, but if you just lift the auger a bit so you're only taking a bit out with each rotation it should just chew right though
