Default Ruger no. 1 triggers and stuff

picked a a 223 SS newish looks unfired

did cat in the hat get some sort of a new dangled trigger from a guy named Tom a little while ago and if so do they work and how hard to get
I called Tom and that is what he said

and I will have to look up that ruger no. 1 barrel thingy from the new owners of the falling block bf pistol, cant think of their names,

EA brown?

what best to use to get a nice trigger pull and a little more accuracy perhaps

a couple hundred rds down the pipe seems to improve the trigger , and eddy mech always floated the forend from the barrel and relieved the pressure of the forend on the action aswell

I think it was Tom who I got my Kepplinger single set trigger from, yes!
They are not made anymore , and are getting as hard to find for the Ruger single shots as a Canjar!
II have owned both Canjars and Kepplingers, and still have a Kepplinger on my custom hunting rifle, simply fantastic triggers set or unset.
A Jard trigger is about the best bet these days.....

If you are lucky and find one of the original # 1s they had an adjustment for sear engagement. They removed that from the newer ones . Basically the Jard is a remake of the originals with the sear engagement adjustment . I have worked on many number one triggers and they can be made into a good trigger without replacing the trigger .

Thee Canjar and Kepplingers are easy enough for anybody with a bit of smarts to install, I would not want to mess with trying to tune a factory trigger however!
The trigger on my mid 70's No.1 is "okay" but not nearly as easy as adjusting the Kepplinger or Canjar .

The originals were as simple as any to adjust . Simple screw to change the sear engagement contact on the hammer unfortunate they removed that . I would love to have a truck full of canjars single sets for the #1

The Jard is nothing like the original. I believe you are thinking of moyers/moulds. They were a crude cast copy of the original design however I believe they too have been discontinued.

Kepplinger made a very nice trigger, but unfortunately as Cat suggested he retired. Too bad, as the price they command these days suggests there is a demand.

I wasn’t sure if they died or retired but yes I think both the moulds hammer, and moyers triggers are both no longer available.

Pretty sure Moyers is dead, and I know both Mr. Kepplinger and Mr. Canjar have both gone to quieter ranges......
