Default Cabin Architects

Hi - planning for a cabin build for next year. I have a design in mind, but need a architect to turn it into a reality. It won't be a log home. Any recommendations? I am located in Calgary but not fussed about using services located elsewhere.

Thanks!

I built a cabin in 2024, I went into the Lumber Centre at Red Deer Co-op with a dimensions and a rough drawing of what I wanted it to look like. They called me a few days later with plans and a better drawing. I don't remember what it cost. I bought the material from them and hauled it up to my site. First load if I recall correctly was the walls, flooring, windows and doors. Second load was the rafters and roofing materials.

Global design studios in GP created the plans for our house. I thought he was excellent and fairly priced.

Unless it is fairly complicated a draftsperson should be able to put together drawings for you.
All joists and trusses are engineered by the manufacturers and anything else the draftsperson should be able to handle.......architects don't come cheap!!

Ah ok maybe i wasn't asking for the right thing then - yea its actually pretty straight forward, just want a 30x40 cabin with a porch extension etc. Not complex at all.

That’s what I built. Go talk to a lumber yard.
