Field and stream best bow shoot out
http://www.fieldandstream.com/articl...-bows-for-2014
I was disappointed to see Mathews in 7th place but then it made me feel better when I realized Hoyt didn't even make the list.

Hoyt not making the list for 2014 doesn't surprise me, I prefer the year or two old Hoyt bows with the RKT cam over this year's bows.....fav Hoyt bow is the Carbon Matrix but lots of good ones out there now a days.

obsession evolution
I shoot an obsession evolution and love it. I have shot the RPM and liked everything other than the grip which was a deal breaker for me. The order Doesn't surprise me. I would keep my eye on Obsession they make an amazing product for the price.

Agreed! All yankee bows they reviewed. They dont know what they are missing south of the border. I feel sorry for them.

I just bought the 2013 Hoyt spyder 30. As soon as I picked it up I knew it was the right bow fit perfect in my hand and shot like a dream.

Don't feel sorry for them, ignorance is Field and Streams mainstay!

Performance IMO would/could be on par. Fit and Finish.....blech!
The dip/paint job on APA bows is horrible. It chips and flakes off in penny sized chunks. I have two of them. Both the same.

Those reviews are a crock of bologna. I have to agree with my old friend Kurt, pretty wise for a young buck.

2013 not a 2014 as in the review. Spyder 30 is a real nice bow with RKT 3.2 cams on it....good choice!

Mathews bought there way into the top 10. Solocam has got to be the worst technology going in bows, Nothing smooth about them.

It's obvious some things never change, especially if you never try different things.
I've owned a couple Mathews, a few PSE, a Darton, and few Hoyt. If you honestly believe Mathews is still in the game you must be drunk on the koolaid.
If you ask anyone who isn't biased when was the last time Mathews made a decent bow, they'll tell you it's been a few years. I have a friend who is a Mathews dealer among other brands, and used to be a die hard Mathews fan. You couldn't give him a Mathews bow, and he pretty much has to give them away to get them out of his shop. I talked to him about a week ago and he says he's selling at least 20 Hoyt's to one Mathews, but that's only because he has all brands on the rack to test before the customer makes their decision. Seems the koolaid turns sour when they can test drive other brands.
Shoot what you want, and if you believe anything you read in field and stream or outdoor life for that matter, you need a lesson in advertising.... That's about all I got to say about that.

Mathews cool-aid is red what colour is Hoyt's? I would say your cool aid moustache is a big as mine, just a different colour. I don't hold a lot of stalk in those reviews I just posted it as a point of conversation. But if you don't believe those shoot outs have an effect on sales I think you might need a lesson in advertising.
I think anyone that has been in archery for more than a couple of years realizes that all the top brands make good bows it's just what fits the individual best.
By the way where are the bowtech guys they should be the ones bragging?

I never said what kind I'm shooting right now, I'm not into koolaid, I just don't think Mathews has made a bow in a few years.

Well, in their own words....
10) Hoyt Faktor 30
Total Score: 72.25
Bottom Line: Last year’s Hoyt nearly won the whole thing, so the Faktor’s low rank shocked us. Our best guess is that we just got a lemon. In any case, middle-of-the-pack speed knocked it on its heels, and shock, vibration, and noise did the rest. The Faktor did have solid marks for accuracy, great fit and finish, and wonderful balance.
Also:
It’s worth noting here that just because a bow finishes seventh or 10th doesn’t mean it’s not a good bow. A test like this boils down to very subtle differences. But, of course, these can make a big difference to discriminating archers
Yes, I own and shoot Hoyt, have for years (Lasertec, Vtec, and lately the CX32). I almost got the Bowtech Assassin last time around, but I just like the balance of the Hoyt's in my hand. All the Hoyt Haters....have at 'er.

They tested high end bows.....
What technology has APA copme up with in past few years....besides the fang!....
no advances in limbs, cams, or risers just different shapes and messed with geometry for a bit....
they are 5 years behind just without the advetising budget of Mathews.....Much like Mathews who are 3 years behind
Bowtech, Hoyt, Prime, have made huge innovations and took some risks and some have paid off.... some not so much... with Hoyt it was the matrix riser...
In two years there will be a whole new wave of developments....just in time for American economy to turn around!....

Holly people are sure pasionate about bow brands, sound like some of you must have a lot of shares in those company. Who care what those "pro" are saying about different bow. We all like to think that bow technology have made serious leap in the last five years so we can justify to our significant other and to ourself buying a new bow every few years. The reality, for the average archer (majority of us on this forum), it will not make much of a difference. I use to shoot 3" groups with an old bowtech tomcat with crappy octane rest, out to 50 yard, 7 years ago when I got introduce to archery. I am no different than most of you, I am sporting a brand new bow this year, it's not on the list, but I love it and it gives me confidence for the upcoming season. As for my groups, not much different, I just get there faster.
Mathews 3 years behind, APA 5 years behind, carbon this, alloy that, really are you kidding me. Just get out there and enjoy your bow. New bows won't make you a better shooter, pratice and working on your form will.

Ok you got me, grouping size at 50 yard might not be accurate. Might point still stand, calm down, your new bow didn't make the cut according to some magazine with paid advertising or some member here doesn't like your choice. If it works for you great, no need to bash other brands.

Where's the smilie beating the dead horse....
Fanboys will be fanboys...this post will be endless with not a whole lot of agreement...lets just agree to shoot what we like and not slam every other bow...
This review is a joke...Facts are major bows were left out Hoyt and APA for two...
bias???
Well one of the contribators lost their Mathews Dealership for last years test and now flogs....wait for it!!!!...Bowtech...hmmmm
These test's are a whole lot of personal Opinion with a pinch of personal gain...
JMHO
