Default 402 Elk hunting

Hey, first post here so hopefully this makes it out alright.

I am fairly new to hunting with only a couple years under my belt, but this year has been my first hunting elk. I Hunted 404 in archery season and bugled a couple bulls in close but never connected. Ever since then I have had no luck even locating elk let alone putting a stalk on.
I have spent the last couple weekends down in 402 around Dutch Creek area and have seen fresh sign, but no elk.
Does any one have any pointers for finding elk this late into the season on crown land, mainly wmu 402?

Thanks.

Get high before the sun is up. Look north and west into clearings.

Get high and glass. Or hike and cut track. Check out the elk tactics thread from last year. Lots of good tracking info in there. If it's open country though let your eyes do the walking
