Default Looking for crown land spot right beside a lake to camp and atv with the kids

Hey everyone

I got the urge to find a new camping spot for this year.

We just started camping on crown land last summer and cant wait to go find a new spot. Would LOVE a spot right by the lake so the kids could swim right while we sit around the fire and we could keep an eye on them.

Of course, a decent amount of crown land around to go quadding is an added benefit haha

Would like it to be within 2 hrs of edmonton. Any suggestions????

TIA

That was possible 50 years ago, not anymore around Edmonton. You would have to go to the remote parts of BC...

Good luck with that. Any lake within Alberta that is swimmable will be surrounded by pay per night campsites. You might find some beaver pond surrounded by a mosquito infested swamp that may be accessible.
Honestly though, If you want to camp and have a bit of space and a swimming hole, your best bet is get a canoe and head down the river

Why not come south down here in the Pass and Fernie country on weekends, as do the entire population of Calgary to plug up absolutely every campground and crown land opportunity available, and tell your friends too.....

Not sure if you can still ATV there but check out Margaret Lake in the Waiparous area. Its a little further than 2 hours from Edmonton though.

We used to jeep there quite often and camp right by the lake

There are plenty of spots just not within 2hrs of Edmonton. Koocanusa is not bad as the entitled gentleman mentioned. But I'd honestly rather go up north to the Six Lakes area than drive to Koocanusa again. Much nicer area and nobody around.

PS, thought Kenny was now going to charge for camping on Crown land.
