Default 04 foreman in 6 foot box

Looking at buying an 04 foreman 450. I have an 08 Sierra and the box is just under 6 feet. Could I close my tailgate with and atv riser?

With an Atv riser yes. Won’t take much. My dads foreman 500 doesn’t quite fit in his gmc 1500 with 6’ box.

A 450 foreman fit in my old fords 6’ box with the tailgate closed so I’m gonna say no to your 5.5’ box.

My 2008 doge ram 1500 was a no go. 2011 F250 the tailgate would completely close with my 2005 Foreman 500.

My 450 wont fit in a 2001 chevy with the 5.5 box. Especially if it has bigger tires or bumpers.

It will fit in a 6-1/2' box, but not 6'.

Thanks for the feedback, tough to say with the tires and 2 up seat as I don’t have the quad to load and test. Two the two douchebags that responded, I do have a tape measure, thanks for checking in....

You probably already know this but winch, front or rear rack, are just a couple of examples of major factors in deciding if something fits. You need to make VERY sure that the front rack, if you drive it in, will not hit the rear window or the cab if you hit a big bump or stop real sharp. The distance they can move is quite surprising and they need to be tied down REAL tight to keep them in place. A quad of that era should fit in a 6' box with the tailgate closed, depending on how far back you have to locate it with a 6x6 to keep it off of the cab. We have found that they often fit best backed in.

Those "douchebags" probably gave you the best answer. There are so many variables that come into play like tire width, accessories on the quad, and accessories on the truck just to name a few. The only way to know for sure would be to get the measurements of the quad and the box of your truck.

Honestly, if I had read the douche bag comment before I responded I would not have bothered trying to help out. Seems pretty extreme response to a suggestion that isn't out of line at all. Best option is to fit the quad and see, if it isn't available I have no idea how you would do it besides detailed measuring given it has non-standard options.

That was a strong word and response. Too bad you get used to those comments right away when you post something. I definitely didn’t take it as “it would be best to measure with the rack etc”. My only question should been have how many inches you can gain from using a standard riser.

Not sure if those risers have a stop from keeping your quad going into your window on a hard stop.

Get one of those cages that go around the open tailgate and tie down it in. Will also give you a bit more secure cargo area

Douchebag? Jeepers creepers man....measure your bloody truck box then measure your quad front and back and side to side.!!!!! Holy smokes. It ain't rocket science. You could even get super creative and load the dang thing in the truck box.!!!! Then lift up your tailgate with your hand and if it shuts then the quad fits. Maybe I shoulda explained myself a little better instead asking if you had a measuring tape. Sorry for hurting your feelings with my logical and practical response.

"Douche Bag" comment aside you might all go re-read the OP's question. The question indicates he is well aware that the 450 Foreman will not fit in his 6' box with the tailgate close. His question is "will it fit if he uses an atv riser" Might be tough for him to simply take a tape measure and measure something he does not even own yet.

I fit my 05 Foreman into my Taco's 6 foot box, I do use a riser but I still take the tailgate off. I made my riser, but it's not steep enough so my tailgate is still a few inches shy of closing. If your riser is steep enough, you should be able to close your tailgate.
