Bow Tuning advice - stretched string/cable?
Hi,
I picked up a new compound bow today - last year's model.
Just setting it up and noticed that it's axle-to-axle length is about .25+ inch more than the specs. Measured brace height (string to beginning of riser), and it looked shorter too (a half to quarter inch shorter).
Measured my old bow and it was perfectly on spec. So I'm quite sure I'm measuring things right.
Is the string and cables stretched beyond what they should be?
If so, should I just twist the strings/cables to make them shorter? They already have an aggressive twist on them?
As for the draw feel: the power-stroke starts off aggressive (as it should), but it ends with an extremely forgiving valley... i mean like more than a inch of travel before it wants to fire. I thought that was a good feature, but maybe the string/cables are stretched..
Any advice?
