Default Edmonton streams/ponds suggestions

So I am stuck in Edmonton over this weekend for work but luckily I brought my waders, fly rod and belly boat to kill some time. Unfortunately since I'm not from here, I know no locations around here other than the NSR (which I'm told is high anyways).

Can anyone give/PM me some suggestions to try within a 45min drive? I don't have my truck with me unfortunately so no off road trails

Ideally I'd like to try some smaller streams, but a quiet pond would be fine too. And if anyone is heading out and wants some company let me know, just don't want to be stuck in my hotel room.

Many thanks in advance!

One of the best places around is Muir Lake - aboiut 1/2 hour from Edmonton (depending where in the city you are).

A couple of others that I like are Star and East Pit.

Check out Doc's "Fly Fishing Edmonton" website: http://www.freewebs.com/flyfish-edmonton/index.htm

There are some useful links there.

X2 on Muir and star. They are usually nice and quiet. I usually take my daughter out once a week to Muir it's only 4 min from home
