Default Blind

That's a funny little skit, I often practice with my eyes shut. If you can do that and make a decent group then everything is good in the world of form and repeatability.

Funny on the dark side...
As calgarychef we do have a shooting form practise called Blind bale shooting where we shoot with eyes actually closed...hence the name...

With eyes closed we can concentrate more on the feel and proper release,...
it can be done close up even six feet, safety is obviously an factor when alone...
Make sure target is high at bow/eye level...

I have suffered from a form of target panic for 30 years, most likely from not having proper couching or instruction at early age...

But I use the blind bale method if I find I am resorting back to my target panic issue...

We taught a kids camp one year at Parkland and one of the exercises was to let your partner guide you in shooting at a target while you were blindfolded. The kids all commented that it really made you aware of the muscles you were using; the feel of the bow in your hand and the string against your face. Also how calm you felt because you couldn't see the target and worry about your shot. They said it felt like "slow motion".
