Early Season Hunt Plans.
So what are you folks planning?
Our group will be travelling to Camp on Sunday Sep 18, mainly to avoid the opening elk season weekend mayhem(starts Sep 17). Will be there at least 10 days.
No one got drawn for bull moose this year so we will be chasing elk/whitetails mostly. I also got drawn for Muley Buck. Quite a few of them about 1.5 miles from Camp. One of the guys missed an opportunity last November on a very decent 5X5...maybe he's still around this year.
Looking forward to it!...

Sounds like you will be in for a good trip!
Weekends throughout September for us chasing elk, moose and checking trail cams. Then about 9 days off end of September into October for the same thing. Weekends for the first part of November, then off 18-30th for year 2 of chasing a certain WT.

got the bow all tuned up or I mean me for bull moose around here then off down south for mule deer then back for whitey's...fall is going to be a blast, fast and furious.

Ready to start lol
Scouting waterfowl and ready to go come the first Then off on my first elk season hunt late September thanks to a fellow AO member. Whitetail and grouse in October No bears for me this fall as I was fortunate to harvest a nice boar this past spring

Heading to WMU-360 on Fri for 2-3 days of archery elk.
Will see if there are any replies to cow calls and maybe a bugle or 2.
Only hesitation on my part will be the 24C temps.

Trying Crossbow for bull moose and elk be the first year for it got hurt bad at work can’t pull back the bow anymore see how it goes

I have an Antlered Moose tag for 203. 10 year wait and I plan to make the most of it lol

Guys be careful with spoiled meat this year. Not normal to have 30c temperatures into September. We usually have frost by end of August in past years.

Sept 15 heading south of Calgary for archery elk, probably only hunt a few days until the 20th or so.

May head up to a zone that opens for birds Sept 1st for a day here and there that week, buddy and I are going to hunt birds 8th to 15th or so, then may head to DV area to see what can be seen and see what there is there for chickens or elk or deer. Back here from about Sept 25th to Oct 15th or so to hunt birds, may head back to DV area again after that. May go chase pheasants a or huns or sharpies a bit in Oct, see what transpires. Could even wind up down south to chase birds in Nov, maybe, depends on weather, and how Oct goes.
