Before I started reloading my go to were Federal Premium 130 gr Nosler Partitions. Took many deer and a moose. 130 gr Federal Fusions shot well in my gun and I was happy with how they worked on deer. 130 gr TSX also shot well, the couple deer I shot with them only had pencil hole pass thru.

Now that I reload my son shoots my 270. He is shooting 130gr Sierra Prohunters pushed by H4895.

When he starts shooting full hunting loads we are going to try 110gr TTSX.

I load 130 TSX bullets over stout charge of IMR 4831. I've become a real fan of the TSX bullets over the years.

55gr of H4350, and a Hornady 130gr. Interlock.
57.5 gr. IMR4831, and a 130gr. TSX
58gr. IMR7828, and a 140gr. Accubond.
57.0 gr. IMR4350, and a 100gr. Barnes X (original)
46gr. Varget and a 130gr. Winchester PP.

That's 5 different loads in 5 different rifle's.

There is no best overall, just what worked well in the individual firearm.

Never ever go by these posts alone, use the nosler book, what if one of these are a hoax and you end up with a bolt in the face.

Yeah I know I always double check in my manuals, I use these more as a base for what powders to use.

As a factory shooter I've come to use the Fusion 130 and 150 grain loads exclusively. Having never recovered a 130 from a deer, even those shot straight on or steeply quartering, I suspect that they would be enough bullet for moose. Having never had to shoot a moose at further than a couple hundred yards I generally use the 150's anyway.

True. Do your homework and check manuals against the posts. I suppose a fellow could have a typo error, but a hoax? or purposeful misguidance would have to come from a real something hole.

O'Connors favourite load was a 130gn bullet over 60gn of h4831. Personally I use 140gn nosler accubonds over 58gn's of H4831.
