salters lake update may 30

great day at salters. the lake is 1/4 ice free on dock and aereator side. stuck the canoe in and joined a rowboat and float tube. 2nd cast landed a big female and and then 20 min later got another big female. some more people showed up to fish the dock and shore. despite black clouds overhead it was actually a nice day. my total catch was 5, 2 big females (22"), one very big male (24") and 2 12". kept the 2 big females (fillets soaking in milk) and released the others. by next week 1/2 the lake should be open if not more.

oops meant april 30, still groggy from 9:00 am dentist appointment (when i noticed that there wasn't a cloud in the sky and started thinking canoe). i was bait casting not fly fishing.

Do they allow gas motors on this lake? I hope not as this lake is pretty small.
