Default Best time to buy new bow?

When is the best time to buy a new bow in Alberta? I like the look and feel of the Bear Anarchy, but I want to wait for the prices to drop. I'm in no rush.

I was a wholesale in south Calgary a week ago and they had 30% off 2013 bows. Not sure if it still like that.

Yeah I remember that. I don't really like the big stores and would rather support a small pro shop.

Same as cars, after the new models come out they shop the 'old' ones cheap. Usually after hunting season, after Christmas early new year. A few years ago, I picked up a brand new Hoyt Vtec doing this. Great bow, it was almost $800 new with tax at that time, picked it up for $400. A friend is still shooting it, I upgraded to a CRX32 a couple years ago. Same system, paid $700 all in for the CRX, was over $900 retail with tax at the time.

Default Best deals

I have picked up a couple of top of the line Hoyts around Dec or Jan for around $800, they were regular $999.99 so 20% off.

Sometimes that 20-30% off at box stores isnt no where near the value of service ...such as retune ..peep alinment ...tuning, shooting lanes etc that you recieve with most Pro shops included price...

I get many shooters that got that great deal on a package bow...than end up buying a new rest, sight peep etc and than have service charges on top of that...can end up costing more in the end...

Although most PRO shops cant compete with huge box store prices, talk to them and they may work you a deal that you will be happy with and saving in other aspects

True service and expertise cannot be undervalued.

Most stores will drop there prices shortly after the ATA show when most new bows are seen and become available for order and they would like to make room for new stock.

Very true. Lots of package bows are set up terribly.
